Like most off-road equipment, machinery used in the mining industry has a unique set of challenges to meet optimal emission reduction levels.

Many mining vehicles operate constantly underground in poorly-ventilated areas and present particularly challenging and important environmental concerns. If untreated, the diesel exhaust and carbon emissions emitted from these vehicles are inhaled by the operators before dissipating.

Increased exposure to diesel exhaust is a factor in heart and lung disease and a possible carcinogen affecting your workers' health, safety and productivity. The harmful components of diesel exhaust include particulate matter (PM or soot), carbon monoxide (CO), and hydrocarbons (HC).

Existing mining equipment is not practical to re-power and replacement is too expensive to achieve target emissions reduction goals.

To overcome this issue, we offer a number of retrofit solutions designed specifically for mining applications, which are industry leading, verified solutions. And unlike one-size-fits-all companies, with our application engineering approach, you'll receive a custom-fit solution that insures quick installation and durable performance.

Our retrofit emissions control solutions include:

  • AZ Purifier and Purimuffler® - diesel oxidation catalysts
    These diesel oxidation catalysts are supported on a ceramic substrate which affords excellent low temperature emissions reduction performance. Plus, these products are verified by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Air Resources Board (ARB).
  • DZ and EZ Purifier - diesel oxidation catalysts
    These diesel oxidation catalysts are supported on a metallic substrate which affords exceptional resistance to vibration and the lowest possible exhaust backpressure.
  • Cattrap® - passive diesel particulate filter
    This passively regenerating diesel particulate filter incorporates a base metal catalyst to provide PM reduction without any increase in nitrogen dioxide (NO2) emissions. It is Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) approved.
  • Combifilter® - active diesel particulate filter
    This actively regenerating diesel particulate filter system removes PM while reducing NO2 emissions. The system is comprised of an integrated diesel particulate filter, silencer assembly and an off-board regeneration control panel or station. This system is MSHA approved.
