Off-Road: Construction

Clean Diesel provides an optimized retrofit solution for off-road construction equipment – specially designed for challenging low-temperature applications.

Off-road diesel engines can contribute significantly to the levels of particulate matter (PM) and oxides of nitrogen (NOx) in the air. In recent years, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has set emissions standards for engines used in most new construction equipment. However, because construction equipment can last 25 to 30 years, it will take many years before existing equipment is replaced with new, cleaner equipment. Because EPA's regulations only apply to newly manufactured diesel engines, EPA developed the Clean Construction USA program to assist owners and operators of construction equipment to reduce emissions from the older engines that are in operation today.

We offer retrofit solutions designed with construction vehicles in mind.

• AZ Purifier™ and AZ Purimuffler® diesel oxidation catalysts supported on a ceramic substrate affording excellent low temperature emissions reduction performance as well as EPA and California Air Resources Board (CARB) verifications. Certified by the Sweden Environmental Zone program and approved under the UK Energy Saving Trust Transport Energy Clean Up Program.
• Purifilter® passively regenerating diesel particulate filter which offers extraordinary and industry leading reductions of PM, hydrocarbons (HC) and carbon monoxide (CO). Our retrofit technology solutions offer superior performance at maximum cost effectiveness per retrofit dollar and are EPA and CARB verified; verified for urban bus under the Energy Saving Trust Vehicle Certification Agency of the United Kingdom; Certified under the Swedish Environmental Zones: off-road program; and verified for fire trucks under the Energy Saving Trust Vehicle Certification Agency of the United Kingdom.
• Combifilter® actively regenerated diesel particulate filter system that removes PM while reducing carbon dioxide (NO2) emissions. The system is comprised of an integrated diesel particulate filter and silencer assembly, and an off-board regeneration control panel or station. VERT verified for off-road (Type V and K); approved under the Sweden Environmental Zones for off-road (Types V, K and S) and MSHA approved.

We have experience with all forms of off-road construction equipment whether it is earthmoving systems, road building machinery or building construction. Everything from wheel loaders and backhoes to excavators and skid steers have been successfully retrofit by us with either AZ Purifier™ and AZ Purimuffler® diesel oxidation catalysts or one of our host of diesel particulate filter options.
