This translates into a typical fuel economy improvement and carbon reduction in the 5-8% range or greater (depending on engine type and applications) based on dynamometer tests, and as high as 9 – 12% in field trial applications, including locomotive, delivery vehicles, refuse management and line haul trucking. Platinum Plus® DFX-DPF is a formulation specifically designed to improve fuel economy and reduce the carbon footprint of engine applications. The unique in-cylinder catalytic mechanism of Platinum Plus® results in the uniform flame front from the catalyst deposited on the metal surfaces of the combustion chamber, the faster and lower temperature burn from homogenous dispersion of catalysts in the fuel and the continued catalyzation through the vapor phase to complete combustion. This increases the thermal efficiency of the engine across the entire speed-load map and extends power across the entire crank angle cycle, resulting in additional available energy and improved utilization of fuel.
