A major step forward in fuel-borne catalyst technology.

We have developed our Platinum Plus® fuel-borne catalyst as a diesel fuel soluble additive, which contains minute amounts of organo-metallic platinum and cerium catalysts. Platinum Plus® enables rapid conversion of particulate matter (PM) from diesel engines when coupled with a diesel particulate filter. It also improves combustion which acts to reduce engine-out emissions. Platinum Plus® fuel-borne catalyst takes catalytic action into engine cylinders where it improves combustion, thereby reducing particulates, unburned hydrocarbons (HC) and carbon monoxide (CO) emissions. Thus, Platinum Plus® fuel-borne catalyst lends itself to a wide range of enabling solutions including diesel particulate filtration, low emission biodiesel, carbon reduction and exhaust emission reduction. Environmentally conscious corporations and fleets can utilize this solution to voluntarily reduce emissions. When used with exhaust emissions control devices, such as diesel particulate filters and diesel oxidation catalysts, these technologies offer the following advantages:

  • Create a more active fuel-borne catalyst, enabling the system to operate at much lower temperatures;
  • Allow substantial reduction in the amount of platinum used in the manufacture of catalytic devices;
  • Limit the emissions of nitrogen dioxide (NO2), a gas very much more toxic than nitrogen monoxide (NO). NO2 emissions are traditionally increased by heavily catalyzed conventional devices;
  • Improve the soot conversion of the emissions control device, leading to higher soot reductions; and
  • Improve the reliability and the life of the device.

Our know-how and expertise has resulted in strong product dosing and delivery strategies, multiple families of fuel-borne catalysts and formulation technologies, and the use of cerium-based and other fuel-borne catalysts when applied with catalyzed and uncatalyzed after-treatment devices.
